Computer Systems: Firmware update via ethernet

Background information

The Embedded SW Common and DUV department is responsible for the software of multiple machine types, on multiple levels. In this department, the Optical Column group creates, maintains and supports software for multiple elements. We provide both drivers and middle level applications that enable other departments to actuate the machine and achieve production with high performance.

Your assignment

The assignment consists of a software implementation of a communication mechanism between two systems: system A, which will have a binary file containing a package for firmware update; and system B, which shall receive a message from system A and start the download of the package via ethernet connection. The mechanism shall be developed in C++ following ASML coding standards and process.

Your Profile

To be a perfect match for this internship, you:

• Are a Bachelor student in Software Engineering, Computer Systems or a related study.

• Are familiar with software implementation.

• Have a good understanding of object-oriented programming, C++ and network protocols

• Enjoy working in a team but also have the ability to work independently.

• Have great communication skills and are fluent in English both verbally and in writing.

This is a Bachelor internship with a duration of a minimum of 3 months, for 2-5 days a week, starting as soon as possible.

Please note that we can only consider students who are enrolled at an educational institution for the entire duration of the internship.

This position requires access to U.S. controlled technology, as defined in the United States Export Administration Regulations. Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to access such U.S. controlled technology prior to beginning work. Business demands may require ASML to proceed with applicants who are immediately eligible to access U.S. controlled technology.
