In our operating model, all technical support staff is member of a chapter and allocated to a multi-disciplinary squad supporting an asset or delivery unit. As Production Technologist, you’ll be part of NAM’s Production Surveillance and Technology chapter covering the disciplines Production Technology, Process Technology and Production Support Engineering.
What’s the role?
As WRFM Production Technologist, you’re accountable to maximize cash flow from NAM’s well portfolio. WRFM is and will remain essential for NAM, currently safeguarding, restoring and optimising 20-40% of the assets production capacity per annum, spanning the full subsurface and surface production system and integrating technical and production directorates. Maximizing value from our assets by understanding and optimizing well, reservoir and facility performance is adding significant reserves and production, and this is expected to continue year-on-year.
For note – we have (3) staff vacancies for Production Technologists based upon regular (local) employment terms and conditions.
Main duties and responsibilities:
Production System Optimisation
- Optimise the integrated field performance for your respective asset and act as the opportunity lead for short and medium-term production enhancement opportunities
- Drive initiatives/opportunities that generate cash flow. These span from delivering non-routine well intervention campaigns, optimising routine well interventions to reduce mean time to repair (MTTR) and/or improving ways of working e.g. simplification, standardization, digitalisation
- Participate in and facilitate reviews stated in the WRFM Practice Table e.g. well reviews and create visibility of (newly identified) economic LIP for budget and resource allocation.
- Assess alternative production enhancement concepts/scenarios (following competitive scoping exercise) and write well intervention proposals with focus on risks, mitigations and economics
- Actively participate in value assurance reviews, validating the root cause and selected concept
- Active participation in after action reviews (AAR), role modelling the learner mindset behaviours and ensuring robust feedback loop into the process
- Contribute to the definition and execution of the asset and WRFM strategy e.g. annual WRFM plan
Surveillance & Data Acquisition
- Develop and deliver data acquisition plan (surveillance) for your respective wells to obtain data on well, reservoir and facility performance
- Execute daily Exception Based Surveillance (EBS) on wells in your respective asset
- Maintain and improve the asset Integrated Production System model (IPSM)
Well Integrity
- Maintain, restore and protect well integrity for your respective asset and ensure that any well integrity related issues are captured and prioritized
- Ensure compliance with the NAM’s Well Integrity Management System (WIMS), whilst maintaining a close working relationship with the Well Integrity TA-2
- Actively manage both the preventive and corrective maintenance execution planning and minimize the maintenance backlog and associated (reputational) risks
- Actively participate in technical reviews for wells with integrity problems (risk assessment) and implement risk mitigation measures in timely fashion
Ways of Working
- Be an ambassador for the ongoing change in NAM with respect to ways of working by role modelling and coaching the agile ways of working, streamlining processes and removing waste
- Participate in (and facilitate) the agile ceremonies for your respective squad
- If nominated as squad lead, coordinate the agile ceremonies and essential WRFM reviews e.g. Production System Optimisation (PSO), Produce the Limit (PtL) and Annual Field Performance Reviews
- Establish relationships with key stakeholders e.g. Well Services, Operations, Maintenance
What we need from you
- An eager WRFM Production Technologist with experience in gas well deliquification, well integrity, artificial lift techniques, stimulation techniques and sand control
- Bachelors or MSc degree in Engineering, Petroleum Engineering or related engineering discipline
- Good understanding of both company and industry best-practices in WRFM including latest well surveillance and intervention technologies (global WRFM community)
- Demonstrable commitment to Goal Zero performance of No Harm and No Leaks
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and team skills; successful delivery through others
- Customer-oriented mindset, strong integration skills and good grasp of other disciplines and functions supporting the asset
- Experience with change management, structured decision-making and priority setting
- Strong drive to continuously wanting to improve our business and ways of working (agile/lean) through process simplification, standardisation, and automation/digitalisation
