The Business Guidance Financial Control department empowers TenneT leaders in their decision-making processes by offering strategic, operational, and financial planning and forecasting advice. A dedicated program has been initiated to provide high-quality, reliable data assets, empowering Business Guidance to navigate with a robust suite of data, tools, analytics, and processes. This initiative is propelled by the Data, Analytics, and Process Excellence (DAP) team, which champions a data-centric culture, expedites digital transformation, and fosters ongoing enhancement and innovation.
As a Senior Power BI Specialist in the DAP team, your pivotal role involves converting raw financial data into meaningful insights. Your proficiency in Power BI will be instrumental in crafting dynamic reports and dashboards that facilitate informed financial decisions and adhere to regulatory norms. Engaging with interdisciplinary teams, you will grasp business needs and devise cutting-edge solutions that elevate financial efficacy.

What are you responsibilities as Senior Power BI Specialist at TenneT
- Dashboard Development: Design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI to visualize financial data accurately and efficiently.
- Data Analysis: Conduct in-depth analysis of data quality to identify anomalies and opportunities for improvement. Provide insights and recommendations to key stakeholders based on analysis findings.
- Data Integration: use data from the TenneT Data Platform, sometimes combined with other data sources, systems, databases and spreadsheets, to create comprehensive datasets for reporting purposes.
- Performance Optimization: Optimize Power BI reports and queries to enhance performance and scalability, ensuring smooth operation even with large datasets.
- Quality Assurance: Conduct thorough testing and validation of reports to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with (regulatory) requirements.
- Documentation: Create detailed documentation for developed reports, including data sources, transformations, and calculations, to facilitate knowledge sharing and maintain data integrity.
- Training and Support: Provide training and support to end-users on Power BI functionality, best practices, and troubleshooting techniques to maximize utilization and adoption across the organization.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in data visualization and analytics to drive continuous improvement in reporting capabilities.
- Work together with your colleagues in the DAP team (in NL and GE).
The Senior Power BI Specialist hierarchically reports to the Head Planning & Analysis - Business Guidance. The function can be performed hybrid. Office location is Arnhem - Netherlands.
Your profile and background - Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, with a preference for a Masters degree.
- Demonstrated experience as a Power BI Developer or Business Intelligence Analyst, specializing in financial reporting and analysis.
- Advanced skills in Power BI, including expertise in data modeling, DAX calculations, and visualization design.
- A solid understanding of financial concepts, accounting principles, and regulatory compliance.
- Experience in handling large datasets and conducting complex data analyses.
- Proficiency in SQL, Excel, and other data manipulation tools.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication abilities.
- The capacity to work both independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment.
- Certifications like Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate or Microsoft Certified: Power BI would be advantageous.
- Familiarity with Power Apps is desirable.
- Knowledge of SAP 4HANA and SAP’s reporting solutions (AfO, BO) is beneficial.
- Fluent in Dutch and proficient in English at a business level.
