ABOUT THE ROLE

The Technical Account Manager at Arrow ECS is responsible for building and maintaining influential relationships with customers, suppliers, and Arrow partners. The role focuses on creating demand for Arrow solutions by proactively combining technical expertise, engineering knowledge, and commercial insight, including Arrow's supply‑chain capabilities.

The Technical Account Manager also plays a key pre-sales advisory role, working closely with customers and prospects to translate business requirements into technical solutions. This includes delivering technical presentations, workshops, and solution briefings, both independently and together with vendors and partners.

The role works closely with Arrow's vendor ecosystem, supporting customers across data center, virtualization, and related technologies.

This Functie is based in Houten, Nederland, with hybrid working available, and requires regular travel within the Nederland.

What will you be doing at Arrow Enterprise Computing Solutions?

Demand Creation
  • Focus on the technical needs of complex, emerging, or underpenetrated customers
  • Drive and create new opportunities and product selection within assigned accounts
  • Generate demand activity by leveraging internal engineering and technical resources

Account Management
  • Initiate and maintain regular customer visits, selling Arrow's franchised lines and services
  • Identify sales opportunities through a planned and structured discovery process
  • Develop a strong understanding of customer business and technical requirements and translate them into Arrow opportunities
  • Execute solution selling through a working knowledge of Arrow's supply‑chain solutions and design processes
  • Take accountability for profitable growth and margin maximization by selling value‑added, long‑term solutions with strong emphasis on demand creation and engineering

Relationship Management
  • Build and develop engineering and commercial relationships with customers and suppliers at multiple levels
  • Utilize Arrow's distribution, vendor, and partner ecosystem to drive market share and sales growth
  • Represent Arrow at customer meetings, partner events and vendor-led engagements


Technical Enablement & Vendor Engagement
  • Maintain up‑to‑date product knowledge and obtain relevant technical certifications
  • Attend vendor and supplier training sessions to stay current on products and technologies
  • Maintain accurate supplier databases and design‑registration information
  • Stay informed about current and emerging technologies within the customer base
  • Deliver technical presentations, solution briefings and workshops to both technical and non-technical audiences


What are we looking for?

Experience & Background
  • Experience in a technical, engineering, or hybrid commercial‑technical role within software solutions sales or IT channel sales
  • Exposure to data center, virtualization, backup, and infrastructure technologies

Skills & Competencies
  • Fluency in Dutch and English
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills
  • Ability to build and develop strategic customer and vendor relationships
  • Self‑motivated, proactive, and results‑driven mindset
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all organizational levels
  • Structured and disciplined approach to time management and complex sales activities
  • Capability to identify key decision makers and understand enterprise sales dynamics
  • Willingness and ability to learn product benefits and solution‑selling concepts, including working with alliance vendors
  • Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to follow tasks through to completion
  • Comfortable presenting complex technical concepts to both technical and business stakeholders
  • Strong customer-facing mindset, with confidence engaging with prospects and senior decision-makers
  • Ability to bridge the gap between technology and business value
