Purpose of the Role Responsible for leading a team of professional mechatronic Engineers and Designers that are developing products for serial production that can be efficiently manufactured and meet the requirements of industrial or automotive customers, specifically for the Mechanical Engineering department. Key Responsibilities: Team Management
  • Translate the organizations technology strategy into departmental policies and priorities.
  • Identify trends and developments in the field and propose improvements.
- Define short- and long-term objectives for the department.
  • Prepare annual plans and budgets and submit these to senior management.
  • Organize roles, tools, systems, procedures, and processes to achieve goals and meet planning milestones.
  • Plan tasks based on departmental objectives.
  • Monitor the quality and progress of team activities and intervene when necessary.
  • Responsible for departmental budget and resource allocation.
  • Ensure the team has the knowledge and skills needed to fulfill their responsibilities.
  • Guide, coach, and motivate staff; conduct performance evaluations and HR interviews.
  • Provide management with relevant reports and KPIs.
Product Design & Development
  • Ensure timely and complete development of mechanical components and entire products.
  • Collaborate closely in multidisciplinary project teams to ensure product designs meet all requirements.
  • Analyze customer requirements and product specifications to define design criteria.
  • Research product and material properties.
  • Support supplier selection for components and value stream processes in consultation with the Purchasing department.
  • Drive development of alternative concepts and solutions.
  • Drive Finalization of document design files and technical support documents
  • Drive compliant execution of verification and validation tests; analyze test results and provide necessary corrective actions/action plans
Additional Responsibilities
  • Maintain engineering tools (both software and hardware).
  • Contribute to innovation initiatives and provide technical input based on expertise.
  • Track and report time spent per project.
  • Provide service and support for mechanical components and products.
Knowledge and Skills
  • Bachelors degree (HBO level) in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Familiarity with automotive core tools such as 8D, APQP, and DFMEA.
  • Knowledge of RoHS and REACH regulations.
  • Understanding of Technical Construction Files (TCFs) and Machinery Directive.
  • Familiar with IMDS or MDS systems used by customers.
  • Strong proficiency in NX and TeamCenter
  • Knowledge of product safety and environmental legislation.
  • Willingness to stay up-to-date with industry developments.
  • Ability to maintain effective communication with colleagues and clients

  • Travel allowance home-work: 23ct per kilometers one way up to a maximum of 50 km

  • WIA: WIA-bodem, WGA-hiaat en WGA- hiaat additional insurances in accordance with the stipulated provisions.
  • PAWW: Compulsory supplementary insurance when the statutory unemployment WW or WGA benefit expires.
  • Holiday days: 27 days on an annual basis (full-time).
  • ATV: 13 days on an annual basis (full-time).
Note: You need to have a valid work visa for The Netherlands. This is a fulltime job with work location at Barneveld.
