Overview

Our client is a fast-growing deep-tech manufacturer that transforms academic breakthroughs into scalable, industrial hardware developing laser communication terminals. They translate cutting-edge research into modular, volume-producible products that make global, real-time data exchange faster, safer and more resilient.

As the electronics lead in a project team you will collaborate with mechanical, optical and embedded-software disciplines to ensure seamless interfaces and help push the boundaries of data-through-light. Strong preference for experience in space technology.

Responsibilities

• Own the entire electronic design flow – from early trade-offs and component selection through schematics, simulation and PCB layout (Altium Designer).
• Design for radiation tolerance and EMC compliance.
• Plan and perform board-level testing, validation and troubleshooting; document everything clearly.
• Collaborate closely with system architects plus the mechanical, optical and embedded-software disciplines to ensure seamless interfaces.
• Engage with external development partners and customers, communicating technical choices and progress.

What you bring

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering (or similar).
• Over three years of hands-on experience designing electronics for complex systems.
• Proficiency in Altium Designer (or an equivalent ECAD tool).
• Familiarity with embedded-software development; HDL knowledge is a plus.
• Solid understanding of EMC design and qualification.
• Clear, confident communicator who enjoys working in multidisciplinary teams.
