Your Role As a project controller, you will be part of an ambitious team where you have plenty of room for your own initiatives. You will be responsible for the financial management of (externally funded) research projects. From budgeting to final financial reporting, you will bridge the gap between finance and research. You will maintain contact and collaborate with project leaders to manage projects financially. Together with the Business Controller and project leaders, you will ensure proper financial control and risk management of the projects. You will have an overall view of the financial aspects of these projects, identify potential risks early on, and take action when necessary. Your Responsibilities
  • You oversee (subsidized) projects and are responsible for their financial management.
  • You are the point of contact for the controller and project leaders and maintain contact with external project partners and other stakeholders.
  • You contribute to the implementation of internal control measures.
  • You identify potential financial risks in a timely manner and take action when needed.
  • You close each financial period with a complete and reliable financial report and make an important contribution to the balance file and annual accounts.
  • You ensure the reliability of financial reporting and compliance with relevant laws, regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • You contribute to the further professionalization of the project control team.
Your Department and Team In the Plant Sciences research group, we conduct top-level international research and education. Together with national and international companies, research organizations, and governments, we focus on themes such as "healthy and sustainable food" and "non-food plant production." Our innovations play a crucial role in solving societal challenges. As a Project Controller, you will be part of the Finance & Control department, which consists of Business Control, Project Control, and Financial Administration. This position involves a high degree of responsibility and independence, while also collaborating with skilled and enthstic colleagues across different departments. As for your contract, we initially offer a one-year contract that can be extended - if possible within (company) organizational circumstances - on good performance.   • A completed bachelors degree (HBO) in business economics, accountancy, or a comparable financial field.
  • At least four years of work experience in a financial environment, with experience in project administration and financial project management.

  • Have the ability to independently create and analyze financial (audit) reports.
  • Are not afraid to express your independent judgment.
  • Are sufficent in Dutch
