We are ensuring blood perfusion with the first handheld laser perfusion imager, designed to enhance breast reconstructive surgeries and improve patient outcomes. As we continue our journey from prototype to market-ready medical device, we are looking for a talented Software Engineer to join our team and ensure perfection in embedded software and system architecture design.

Your Role

As a Software Engineer – Embedded Systems & Architecture, you will play a crucial role in developing and optimizing the embedded software that powers our cutting-edge imaging technology. You will collaborate closely with our engineering and clinical teams to ensure seamless integration of hardware and software in a high-performance, real-time medical device.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (university or university of applied science) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Team collaboration: Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with internal colleagues and external partners to achieve project goals.
• Performance Optimization: Skills in profiling and optimizing software for speed, memory usage, and battery efficency.
• System Design: Expertise in designing scalable, maintainable, and secure software architectures.
• Version Control Expertise: Proficient in using tools like Git to manage and maintain version control.
• Embedded Systems Development: Skilled in developing software for embedded systems and real-time operating systems (RTOS).
• Image and Signal Processing: Knowledge of image processing techniques.
• Develop Medical Software: Knowledge and experience with ISO 13485, IEC 62304 or IEC 60601 is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize embedded software for our handheld medical device.
• Define and implement software architecture for efficient and reliable system performance together with our team.
• Work with real-time operating systems (RTOS) and low-level firmware development.
• Integrate software with hardware components such as sensors, lasers, and imaging systems.
• Conduct code reviews, debugging, and performance optimization.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including hardware engineers, optical experts, and medical professionals.
