Setting the standards for worldwide data governance

We seek an enthusiastic Data Governance Expert with a passion for data, knowledge and experience in data management to ensure that our new-generation data products optimally align with business requirements and terminology. You would work in a multidisciplinary team called Competence Center CDO together with Data Governance Officers and Data Quality specialists in the tribe Data Management to deliver a great business outcome. You will have many contacts with employees of the Data Management tribe with other tribes and with ING Group colleagues.


Your key responsibilities

You will work as the Data Governance Expert on BCBS239 within Center of Competence CDO and the following regulatory data obligations are part of your responsibilities:

  • Leading the BCBS239 journey
  • Building a roadmap towards compliance and involving other Tribes in scope
  • Scope, gap analysis, action plan and coordination for Data Management Process Control Standard Key Control Testing (KCT)
  • Creating reporting on the non-financial risk data roadmap
  • Create a periodical dashboard for steering and decision making in risk boards
  • Supporting Tribe Data Management including CDO in resolving KCT / NFR issues

Who are we looking for:

  • A hands-on person with a “can do” mentality who is not afraid to set up collaborations, make decisions, set priorities and put them into action in a dynamic environment;
  • A critical thinker that is not afraid to challenge the business and move the organization to a new maturity level in data driven decision making;
  • Experience with quickly learning about and familiarizing yourself with different business domains;
  • Experience as a trusted adviser for BCBS239 related questions (“go-to data person”);
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills (in English);
  • Ability to mentor/teach/explain regulations subject matter to colleagues;
  • Good project / time management, and organizational skills;
  • Good attention to details;
  • Ability to work in teams as well as work independently;
  • Creativity; the ability to come up with original or innovative ideas and solutions, to adopt points of view outside the usual parameters.
