English Language & Literature Teacher for Senior School

The successful applicant will have a strong understanding of concept-based inquiry, and a passion for language and literature, and be experienced in guiding students through the language cycle process. He/she will have the capability to deliver a high standard of education aligned with the School’s Mission, Vision and Values delivered via the International Baccalaureate’s Middle Years Programme (IB MYP), and in preparation for IBDP language and literature.

What will you do on a day-to-day basis?

Our MYP students are currently engaged in an exciting language and literature course that develops their creativity, critical thinking and communication skills using a range of language mediums and methodologies. Our new English Language & Literature Teacher would be experienced in delivering engaging and interactive language and literature lessons that capture students interest and promote active participation. Use multimedia presentations, demonstrations, and hands-on activities to enhance learning experiences. Experience of the IB Middle Years Programme, including the design of authentic assessments for an inclusive learning environment, would be highly valued. Above all, the Amity community works hard to ensure that all students strive to fulfil their academic potential, and that teachers maintain the highest professional standards in all that they do.

What will you bring to the table?

The ideal candidate for this role will have the following skills, experience and qualifications:

A minimum 4-year recognised teaching qualification, including a Bachelor’s Degree and PGCE or equivalent teaching diploma (e.g. B.Ed.)
Minimum 3 years IB teaching experience
Excellent fluency in English (verbal and written)
An innovator, committed to learning and up-to-date with current research

Visible, approachable, with excellent interpersonal skills and a good sense of humour
Flexible, creative and resilient
An excellent communicator and able to build on the reputation of the school
